Position: Client Consultant (sales)
Summary: This position is sales-oriented position and requires advanced communication skills, a thorough knowledge of insurance products available through the agency. The individual in this position must be capable of pursuing and closing sales of new and existing commercial lines accounts and retaining assigned book of employee benefits business. The position is responsible for integrating the Olson & Olson Ltd mission statement ideal into the fabric of job duties and actively and positively demonstrating the stated core values that are part of the Olson & Olson Ltd overall culture. This position will focus on small business accounts.
Salary: Negotiated commission-based compensation.
Employment agreement required.

Duties: -Demonstrate Core Values in all aspects of duties and responsibilities
-Achieve objectives established in annual producer sales plan.
-Prospect for new business from existing clients and identified target groups.
-Contact prospects for the purpose of providing a quote and making sales appointments.
-Survey prospects to determine benefit needs, inspecting current plans, products and business goals for employee benefits.
-Collect detailed information from prospect/client to facilitate the sales, enrollment, and service processes.
-Analyze exposures, alternative solutions to fulfill needs of prospects and clients.
-Develop and deliver formal proposals of insurance including details of coverages, limits, deductibles and other pertinent information.
-Work with Account Advisors and Account Advocates to complete company RFPs and selection of potential markets.
-Work with Account Advisors and Account Advocates to create seamless and open communication with clients to create responsive and comprehensive service.
-Conduct client and prospect appointments communicating proposals and renewals, explaining details and communicating desire to conduct business.
-Introduce service person to clients and request that service calls be directed to them and forward all service-related calls to assigned service person.
-Stay informed of all service issues and become involved in resolution when required.
-Participate in renewals, when appropriate, by reviewing expiration listing with service person to determine appropriate action and collection of information to prepare renewal RFPs, quotes.
-Maintain production reports and attend all sales meetings as required.
-Promote agency and insurance industry in the community.
-Keep informed of industry developments through review of trade press and by attending insurance carrier training meetings on new products, etc.
-Perform other specific duties and projects as assigned by agency management.
-Perform office work directly related to the general business operations of Olson & Olson Ltd.
-Exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance; evaluate and compare possible courses of action and make decisions or recommendations after considering various possibilities.
Qualifications: Proven ability to pursue and close sales. Three or more years of experience in sales.

-Frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
-This position may require workweeks beyond 40 hours per week in order to successfully perform the job and perform each essential duty satisfactorily
-Frequently sit for long periods of time.
-This is a public contact position that requires appropriate business apparel.
-Responsibilities include travel to local client and carrier locations during the work day, as well as occasional out of town travel.
-Candidate must have insured vehicle and be legally eligible to drive to client meetings.
-Must maintain applicable insurance licenses
-Stay updated on changes and enhancements of various systems used by the agency for
maximum performance and efficiencies
